Shannon Refrigeration successfully completed the refrigeration and ventilation upgrade project for Moana Fisheries processing facility in Otahuhu,Auckland.
Shannon Refrigeration’s successful tender bid was a complete in-house design & build project that has provided Moana Fisheries with efficient, modern, reliable refrigeration systems to serve their upgraded processing facility.
A feature of the project was the successful design & installation of a stand-alone industrial CO2 blast freezer facility which has provided reliable, efficient operation from commissioning.
Project details included:
- Common Blast Freezer skid operating on carbon dioxide in a sub-critical configuration.
- Three blast freezer chambers providing 90kW of refrigeration capacity at-40°C air temperature.
- Cold store operating on carbon dioxide in a sub-critical configuration.
- Supply and installation of a large Snowkey flake ice machine with a production capacity of 10 Tons of ice per day.
- Supply and installation of medium temperature reticulated glycol system serving fish chillers. Lennox air-cooled glycol chiller circulates chilled glycol to Comprex room evaporators via secondary pumps, glycol buffer tank and insulated pipework.
- Supply and installation of medium temperature reticulated glycol system serving process chiller and chilled water skid. Lennox air-cooled glycol chiller circulates chilled glycol to Comprex room evaporators via secondary pumps, glycol buffer tank and insulated pipework
- Supply and installation of ventilation plant to serve entire facility including PS1 producer statement of design for council consent.
- Supply and installation of all electrical services and controls.
